WPL uses an amazing structure to override the frontend of your website, activities, widgets and even the views in your Administrative Panel! You can simply put the tmpl files on your theme with a specific structure. WPL will then include the overridden files instead of the original ones.

WPL view path is [plugin-folder]/views/[section]/[view-name]/tmpl/[tmpl-files]

Please put the tmpl files in your theme with this path structure: /[theme-folder]/wplhtml/[section]/[view-name]/[tmpl-files]

Example - If you are using the WPL28 theme, the files should be put into these paths:

Views

propertylisting default tmpl --> /wpl_twentyeight/wplhtml/frontend/property_listing/default.php

propertyshow default tmpl --> /wpl_twentyeight/wplhtml/frontend/property_show/default.php

gallery pshow tmpl --> /wpl_twentyeight/wplhtml/activities/listing_gallery/pshow.php

PDF flyer tmpl --> /wpl_twentyeight/wplhtml/basics/features/pdf.php

Widgets

For overriding the widgets tmpl you would put the tmpl file into this path /wpl_twentyeight/wplhtml/widgets/agents/default.php

Child Theme

The paths are the same if you're using a child theme. For example /wpl_twentyeight-child/wplhtml/frontend/property_listing/default.php

If you didn't put the file on child theme and the file existed on the main theme, WPL imports the file from the main theme. Otherwise it would include the original file.

Note: There is no need to remove the original files after overriding. You can also modify overridden files without changing the original files.

Note: There is no need to put overridden files inside of /tmpl/ directory.

WPL loads Google map library itself. If a third party theme also loads Google map library it will cause a conflict between WPL and the theme. The issue will appear on the Google map in a way that if you zoom in or zoom out your map does not load. Also a JS issue will appear on console:

"You have included the Google Maps API multiple times on this page. This may cause unexpected errors."

For preventing this issue you need to disable Google map library that is loaded via the theme somehow. Bridge theme has an option for this purpose. You need to go to Qode options -> Contact page and set "Enable google map" on "No".

For other themes, First, you should search for an option in the theme backend to disable it. If there is no option, You need to remove it in another way. First, you should find where the google map library is loaded. For this purpose run the following code in your functions.php:

function wp_inspect_scripts() {
      global $wp_scripts;
      foreach( $wp_scripts->queue as $handle ) :
          echo $handle;
      endforeach;
}
add_action( 'wp_print_scripts', 'wp_inspect_scripts' );

All the handles will be printed. Then you need to find the google map handle library and deregister and dequeue in the child theme functions.php:

function wpjs_dequeue_script()
{
     wp_deregister_script('google-maps-api');
     wp_dequeue_script('google-maps-api');
}
add_action( 'wp_print_scripts', 'wpjs_dequeue_script' );

* Consider Google map library handle is "google-maps-api"

Hi developers,
In this Article, I will describe about WPL28 custom header and how to use it:
WPL28 theme has a new type for developers. This type doesn't have any content so you can add your desired content for the header.
First of all, You need to make sure you already have wpl28 child theme activated. In child theme, You should copy header.php of theme from "\wpl_twentyeight\header.php" to "\wpl_twentyeight-child\header.php".
Search for "case '10':" in header.php in child theme, There is a comment section under this part " // Add your custom header codes in here. (Important: You should use this customization in child-theme) ". You should add your codes in here.

As I already mentioned before, This type is useful only for developers who can customize a WordPress Theme so if you are not a developer we don't recommend you to do any of this changes.

          ...
                   <?php
                break;
          case '10':

Firstly, find out what kind of entity you want to add a new field. You can find WPL defined kinds on [wp_prefix]_wpl_kinds table. For example: the kind id of the property is 0 and the kind id of the user is 2.

1- Check the table column in the [wp_prefix]_wpl_kinds table and add a new column into the kind table. For example, if you want to add a new field for users you should add a new column into the [wp_prefix]_wpl_users table.

2- Add a new record into the [wp_prefix]_wpl_dbst table. These columns are important when adding this record:

- id: You should find the maximum ID of dbst records for setting this ID. (Maximum+1) The Minumum value for ID is 3000. So if Maximum+1 is less than 3000, you should pick 3000 for the ID.

- kind: Insert kind id from [wp_prefix]_wpl_kinds table.

- name: Insert the name of your field.

- type: Insert your field type. In most of cases, clients need to add a text, textarea, number or select field.

- options: To insert options for this field based on the field you need, this must be in JSON encoded array. You can see other fields as a sample.

- enabled: It should be 1 or 2. 0 means it is disabled.

- table_name: Insert kind table from [wp_prefix]_wpl_kinds table.

- table_column: Insert the name of the column that you added in first step.

- category: Find category ID from [wp_prefix]_wpl_dbcat table and insert it in this column.

- pwizard: This should be 1 if you want to show it on wizards such as Add/Edit listing wizard or the user profile wizard, and should be 0 if you want to hide it.

Note: For some field types you may need to add more columns to the target table using a naming rule. For example: For neighborhood, features, price etc., you need to add more than 1 field to the target table. Please see the current fields as a sample.

Using WPL default query types

WPL search feature work by using standard criteria query strings, so you can simply define your desired criteria for a specific listing page. Some important parameters are accessible through WPL shortcode wizard. For example, you can specify "listing type", "property type", "user", property tags such as "Featured", "Hot", etc so you can use them easily.

If the shortcode wizard parameters are not enough for you and you want to specify more advanced criteria, you can insert the parameters manually on shortcode. Search query parameters are using this structure: sf_[query-type]_[column-name]=[value]

For example, by adding
sf_select_listing="9"
, WPL will show "For Sale" listings. Some query types need 2 parameters like min/max query type. If you send
sf_tmin_f_150="1" sf_tmax_f_150="5"
it will show the listing that has at least 1 parking space and maximum 5 parking spaces.

Please check this sample shortcode:
[WPL sf_select_listing="9" sf_tmin_f_150="1" sf_tmax_f_150="5"]

You can find all the default query types by tracing this path: [wpl-path]/libraries/create_query/

Creating your own query type

You can also simply create your own query type if needed by adding a new file into the [wpl-path]/libraries/create_query/ directory. you can check one of the default ones as a sample.

Overriding query types

Also WPL has a structure to override query type files. For example, if you want to modify textsearch query type, you can copy and paste the original file and save the new file with an underscore in the beginning of its name (ie: you could create this file for overriding textsearch.php default file: [wpl-path]/libraries/create_query/_textsearch.php)

Here is how you can add a shortcode on WPL:

To create a new layout for WPL widgets, copy and paste one of the existing layouts and rename it a custom name. For example: if you want to create a new layout for the Carousel widget, create a new file in this path: /wp-content/plugins/real-estate-listing-realtyna-wpl-pro/widgets/carousel/tmpl/custom_my_layout.php

Then in the Carousel widget options you can select the new layout:

Then you can open this layout and apply your changes. You can also override this layout in your theme.

Note: Always select a custom name for your added layouts. If you name your layout to a general name like gallery.php it will be overriden in future if we add a new layout with same name to WPL core.

Note: Don't do this method when you're using WPL Basic because your custom file will remove in next update of WPL basic. You shouldn't put any custom file inside of a WordPress plugin generally because of update scenario of WordPress.

This article is created for developer who want to include WPL in their theme and develop a WPL compatible theme.

See below for the requirements to create a WPL compatible theme:

1- Use the WPL shortcode wizard to add all of its shortcodes to your pages, add the pages to a menu, then to a menu bar of your theme. This will enable you to see all the WPL views (Property listings, Single listing, Agent Listing, Single Agent etc). You should add WPL widgets to your website as well to check their interface.

Note: Some WPL widgets and activities have more than one layout. It is recommended to integrate all the layouts with your theme.

2- Use CSS to add desired styles to WPL views, activities and widgets.

3- If needed, you can override tmpl files in your theme. Please read the following KB article: How to override WPL views on a theme?

4- WPL has many addons, If you're going to include WPL into your theme you should consider both of WPL free and Pro and also all WPL addons. Please contact us for developer license of our addons.

5- You can contact us if you need any help regarding integrating your theme with WPL. We may provide you some awesome suggestions and offers.

Thank you for developing with WPL.

First of all, we recommend you to upload images of listings to host and let WPL to resize them based on its options because it will have great affect on your website page speed and reducing page size.

But if you don't want to save images on the host for any reason, you're able to save only image URLs into the WPL items table ([wp_prefix]_wpl_items). This feature called "External images" in WPL and users are able to insert the image links (each link on a new line) on WPL->Add/Edit Listing->Image Gallery->External Images. Then WPL saves the links into [wp_prefix]_wpl_items table.

You can follow the same structure on your massive import code. Just make sure you use exactly the same code. You can see WPL code as a sample here: /path/to/wpl/views/backend/listing/wpl_gallery.php -> wpl_listing_controller::save_external_images function. You should use
wpl_items::save($item);
function for saving external images.

1- Open
[wp_prefix]_wpl_dbst
table in your website database and find the field that you want to show and then set its
plisting
column to 1 instead of 0.

2- Override
/path/to/wpl/views/frontend/property_listing/tmpl/assets/default_listings.php
file into your (child) theme and then modify it show your desired field data. You can check this KB article for overriding core files into (child) themes. You can find rendered data of your desired field into
$property['materials']
variable. Then you can simply print it to the page and apply your desired icon if needed using some CSS codes.

Note: A same scenario is applicable for showing agent fields in profile listing menu. You should override
/path/to/wpl/views/frontend/profile_listing/tmpl/assets/default_profiles.php
and then print your desired field from
$profile['materials']
variable.

WPL has a flexible shortcode so you can do almost everything that you need for filtering listings using this shortcode. Let's check WPL shortcode structure.

[WPL parameter1="value1" parameter2="value2" ....]

for filtering your desired listings you can simply use parameters. For example placing
sf_select_listing="9"
will filter "For Sale" listings. As you can see this parameter have 3 parts, Let's see what are these parts.

sf

All filtering parameters start with sf prefix.

select

It's operand of your query, you can use following operand types:

select: It uses for looking for a certain value into the listings. For example
sf_select_property_type="6"
will create
`property_type`="6"
into the query for finding the listings that have "Apartment" for their property_type column.

notselect: It acts as opposite of select. It adds
`property_type`!="6"
into the query for finding the listings that are not "Apartment".

multiple: If you want to look for a multiple values, you can use this operand. For example
sf_multiple_listing="9,10"
looks for listings that are For Sale and For Rent by creating
`listing` IN (9,10)
query.

text: If you want to search on a listings with a term, then you can use this operand type. for example
sf_text_field_312="Johnson"
generate
`field_312` LIKE '%Johnson%'
for finding all listings that have "Johnson" term into their title.

tmin: You can use it for numeric filters. For example if you place
sf_tmin_bedrooms="2"
into the shortcode, then it will add
`bedrooms`>='2'
to the query for finding listings that have more than 1 bedroom.

tmax: It acts like tmin but for maximum search. For example if you place
sf_tmax_bedrooms="2"
into the shortcode, then it will add
`bedrooms`<='2'
to the query for finding listings that have less than 2 bedrooms.

between: It's a combination of tmin and tmax. For example if you place
sf_between_bathrooms="1:3"
into the shortcode, then it will generate
`bathrooms`>=1 AND `bathrooms`<=3
into the query.

datemin and datemax: They act like tmin and tmax operands but for date fields.

listing

The third part is column name, You can find the column name in Flex menu. Just click edit button of your desired field.

Note: You can insert multiple filtering parameter into the shortcode.

This issue appeared in version 3.2.0 and it will be fixed in the next version of plugin.

In order to fix this issue in the version 3.2.0 you need to insert next code into your site:

[itemprop=”description”],[itemprop=”description”] p

}

There are several ways where you can insert this code:

If you use WPL Pro plugin version you can insert code in UI Customizer. To find UI Customizer you need to go to Wordpress dashboard and then follow the path WPL -> Settings -> UI Customizer, section Custom styles.

If you use official Realtyna template Theme28 you need to go to Wordpress dashboard and in left menu you need to go to WPL28 Settings -> Custom CSS.

If you use WPL Basic version UI Customizer is not available. In this case, you can insert code in the appropriate location of your theme if your theme support it.

You can use any plugin from Wordpress plugin registry that supports custom css codes.

NOTE: The instruction provided below is technical, and if you are not a developer or a technical person, then please consult with your hosting provider.

This issue happens because of the "ft_min_word_len" variable in your server's MySQL Configurations.
It's set to default value of 4, which ignores any word shorter than 4 characters.

You need to change this value to 2 so all your searches that contain values less than 4 letters work properly (like San Juan, Los Angeles, etc).
(Set it to a lesser value like 1 is not recommended, Because it may cause performance issues)

To do so (Root access to the server is required):

1- Edit your MySQL configuration at /etc/my.cnf and add the following line at the end of the file:

ft_min_word_len=2

(If the variable is already there, just change its value to 2)

Note: If your website is a Bitnami app, MySQL configuration file is on a different path:
/opt/bitnami/mysql/my.cnf

2- Restart MySQL server
on cPanel based servers:

sudo /scripts/restartsrv_mysql

On Bitnami stack:

sudo /opt/bitnami/ctlscript.sh restart mysql

on generic servers (You may need to use mariadb instead of mysql):

sudo service mysql restart

3- Confirm the value has changed with the following SQL command

SHOW VARIABLES LIKE 'ft_min_word_len';

4- Repair WPL properties table to rebuild the indexes:

REPAIR TABLE `wp_wpl_properties`

(If Wordpress's database prefix is different, make changes accordingly)
